Cybersecurity for Dummies

Simple measures to protect yourself in an increasingly threatening digital world

How Secure Are You Online?

Take the quiz and discover how good (or bad) your online security is.

90% of Attacks Are Easy to Prevent

This website is my attempt at helping people who don’t know much about computers protect themselves. Big businesses can afford expensive cybersecurity firms, but individuals and small businesses are often left unprotected from even the simplest attacks.

Cybercrime is Easy

The hacking “industry” is very well developed and structured. Someone doesn’t need years of experience to start hacking. A teenager can easily find hacking tools built by others and become a threat.

No wonder the FBI saw a 191% increase in cybercrime reports between 2017 and 2022.

More Sensitive Data Online

We rely more and more on the Internet for handling sensitive information every year.

We now access financial institutions online, health reports, utilities accounts, our everyday shopping, front door cameras, etc. These are as many new targets for hackers.

Simple Measures Protect Against 90% of Attacks

Locking your front door won’t stop 100% of robbers from entering your home, but it’s an easy way to stop most of them.

Similarly, it’s very difficult to protect against 100% of cyber attacks, but it’s actually pretty easy to protect against 90% of them. You just have to learn a few good habits.

Secure Your Digital Life

You may not have an expensive home security system, but at least you lock your front door. I help you do the same with your digital life.

Initial Call

We get on an initial call so I can better understand your situation and your needs. From there, I prepare a simple Security Plan adapted to your needs.

Security Plan Review and Implementation

We review your Security Plan together to make sure everything is clear to you. It will include some homework for you, but I will provide all the steps for you to take.

Optional Follow Up Sessions

I’m available for additional sessions if needed. You may need a more thorough walkthrough for implementing your Security Plan, you may want me to assess your implementation, or your needs may have changed. Either way, I will be here to help.
